Country Comfort Farm Show

This is a nice show at a well run facility located in St Michaels. The show is run by an R rated judge and we feel it will be a nice place to go to get ready for the show season.

The dates are:

  • February 1st
  • March 1st

This is a 1 day show which we will leave early in the morning and return the same day. No stalls so you will be holding your horse all day.

Country Hill Farm

This is another nice facility that runs a great show and has a wonderful food booth too.

Black Eyed Susan Show Series

This is a show series at the Prince George's Equestrian Center. This show series has rated classes with MHSA and schooling classes that will accumulate points for BEST year end awards on both Saturday and Sunday. That will give everyone 2 MHSA shows in one weekend for more points.

The dates are:

  • March 21st & 22nd
  • April 18th & 19th.
  • May 9th & 10th
  • June 13th & 14th
  • July 11th & 12th
  • August 1st & 2nd
  • August 15th & 16th

The horses will be hauled down Friday night and stay until Sunday pm. Stall reservations must be turned in together. Please fill out a Stable emergency contact & release form and drop it off with a check made out to BEST for $200 for a stall for the season of 7 shows by February 10th. The fee is $50 per show if you do not pay in advance, a stall will not be guaranteed. For more info and release form visit www.besthorseshows.com.

Black Eyed Susan MHSA rated show & Thoroughbred Alliance show

This show has MHSA rated classes that will count toward the series year end points with MHSA and BEST but there will not be any schooling classes held in ring 2, 3 or 4 as usual. Instead there will be classes for the Thoroughbred Alliance show. So if you show MHSA rated or have a Thoroughbred this show will also be for you.

  • May 2nd & 3rd

There will be a $25 stall fee for this show if you have a season stall, $50 if you don’t have a season stall as it will not count as a normal series show.

Black Eyed Susan Indoor Show

This show is everyone's chance to show in the big Indoor building at the PG equestrian center.

  • June 27th & 28th

More details on classes will follow but classes will be available for most riders. The stall fee for this show is $35 if you have season stalls or $60 if you don’t.

Enticement shows at Obligation

We will be hold 2 shows at Obligation Farm open to our clients only.

  • March 15th
  • October 25th

These are great shows for everyone to see if showing is for them or tune up their skills before going to shows off the farm. More details to follow.

Southern Maryland Horse Association

Nice series for all horses & riders. Prince George's Equestrian Center

  • We will be showing on Saturday and Sundays

  • March 19th & 20th, April 23rd, May 7th & 8th, May 28th & 29th, July 9th & 10th, August 6th & 7th
  • SMHA will offer -MHSA rated classes on 3-20, 4-23, 5-29, 7-10 & 8-7
  • Schooling classes adults & kids: 3-20, 4-23, 5-8, 5-29, 7-10 & 8-7
  • Western & hopeful hunter on 5-7, 5-28, 7-9 & 8-6
  • Hunter schooling shows on 3-19, 4-23, 5-7, 5-28, 7-9 & 8-6
  • Jumpers on 3-19, 5-7, 5-28 & 7-9 and a Benefit show on 5-8
  • Stall reservations required, please handle direct with SMHA. Request barn with En-Tice-Ment Stables group. If you pay early for stalls there is a discount.

Olde Hope Farm Events

This farm offers 3 phase events in one day. They offer courses for lead line up to advanced riders. It is located on the eastern shore. We took a small group last year and really enjoyed the well run event.

Enticement shows at Obligation

We will be hold 3 shows at Obligation Farm open to our clients only.

  • March 6th a hunter show with games at the end
  • June 12th will be a 3 phase event (dressage, cross country and stadium)
  • October 30th will be a combined show with dressage, hunter classes, costume parade and games
  • More details to follow as each show date gets closer

General info for 2011

  • Each show series will have accumulative points for year end awards. To get the points and awards you must be a member of the club and attend all or most of the shows
  • The fee for coaching during a horse show is $50.00 per day. We must have a minimum of 5 students attending each show. If the attendance is below 5 we will increase the per person price so that a total of $250.00 is charged per day
  • Transportation fees for horses – PGEC $60 & Olde Hope Farm $100
  • Riders are responsible for the preparation of the horse for the show. If you are unable to do this we will be happy to do it for you with plenty of notice. Washing $25, Braiding Mane $50, Clipping $20, Mane pulling $25 and any other service you need
  • Riders are responsible for being with their horse for loading and unloading. Also setting up their stalls at the show grounds is the riders responsibility. If you are unable to do this we will do it for you. Taking horse to show and setting up $30. Taking horse home and removal of a water bucket $20
  • This year everyone can order their shaving for the stall with your pre entries. Pre-registering for the shows is highly recommended
  • If you would like to see your horse shown by one of our Professional Riders the fee is $15 per class. All entries, stall and transportation fees are at the expense of the owner
  • If you don't have a horse & would like to show one of ours the fee is $5 per class plus the entry fees, stall rental, shavings, coaching and transportation fees. The preparation of the horse for the show is the rider's responsibility
  • If you sign up to attend a show you will be charge all fees unless you give 2 weeks notice of cancellation
